Trauma Therapy in Durham Region, Ontario.

Heal from the Past. Reclaim Your Sense of Safety.

Trauma therapy for teens (12+) and adults navigating the effects of crime, violence, abuse, loss, and overwhelming life experiences.

If you're ready to feel less stuck in survival mode and more connected to yourself, your relationships, and your life, support is available.

Trauma Doesn't Have to Define Your Life

Maybe you've noticed that the experience is over, but your mind and body still react as though the danger is happening right now.

You may find yourself:

  • Constantly on edge or bracing for something awful to happen

  • Struggling with anxiety, panic, or overwhelming fear

  • Avoiding people, places, or situations that remind you of what happened

  • Having nightmares, flashbacks, or intrusive memories

  • Feeling numb or disconnected from yourself and others

  • Blaming yourself

  • Having difficulty feeling safe

  • Feeling like you've lost the person you were before the trauma

Trauma can affect every area of life—from your relationships and work to your physical health, confidence, and sense of identity.

Whether you've experienced a single traumatic event or have been carrying the impact of trauma for years, healing is possible.

Specialized Support for Survivors of Crime and Violence

  • As an approved Victim Services Provider through Durham Region Police's Victim Quick Response Program+ (VQRP+) (this can be linked to their site), I provide immediate therapeutic support to individuals impacted by crime and violence.

This work allows me to support people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, including experiences involving:

    • Physical assault

    • Domestic violence

    • Sexual violence

    • Sudden traumatic events

    • Criminal victimization

    • Violent incidents affecting individuals or families

I understand that reaching out after a traumatic experience can feel overwhelming. My goal is to provide a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to move forward at your own pace.

How Trauma Therapy Can Help

Trauma therapy is about more than talking about what happened.

Together, we'll work to help your nervous system recognize that the threat is no longer present and build the tools needed to move forward with greater confidence and stability.

Our work may focus on:

Understanding Trauma's Impact

You'll gain insight into how trauma affects the brain, body, emotions, and relationships—helping you make sense of reactions that may have felt confusing or frustrating.

Rebuilding Safety and Trust

We'll work to strengthen your sense of safety within yourself and your relationships while developing healthy boundaries and coping strategies.

Processing Difficult Experiences

When you're ready, we'll gently explore and process traumatic memories so they hold less power over your daily life.

Reconnecting with Yourself

Trauma can leave people feeling disconnected from who they are. Therapy can help you reconnect with your strengths, values, and sense of identity.

Trauma Therapy Can Help You Move Forward

  • Reduce anxiety, hypervigilance, and fear

  • Process traumatic memories in a safe and supportive environment

  • Improve emotional regulation and coping skills

  • Sleep more peacefully and experience fewer intrusive thoughts

  • Rebuild trust in yourself and others

  • Strengthen relationships and communication

  • Feel more present and engaged in daily life

  • Develop a renewed sense of confidence and control

Recovery is Possible

Trauma can make it feel like healing is impossible. But with the right support, many people discover they are capable of far more healing, resilience, and growth than they ever imagined.

You deserve a space where your experiences are taken seriously, your reactions make sense, and your healing is prioritized.

Together, we can work toward helping you feel safer, stronger, and more connected to the life you want to live.
